Communications and Engagement Manager
Contract and Hours: Permanent- 32 hours per week (4 days)
Salary: £34,000 ( Pro Rata) per annum

CHIVA works to ensure young people living with HIV have the treatment and care, knowledge, understanding, skills and wider support needed to live well and achieve their greatest potential.
We are looking for a communications & engagement specialist to join our growing charity. You should have previous experience of developing creative and engaging website and social media content, and other information and promotional resources, and have experience of developing communication and engagement strategies. Previous experience of working in a not for profit organisation would be an advantage. You should also be committed to the safeguarding of children and the ethos of the organisation.
You will ensure that our young people are engaged and can access our services as appropriate. You will also be responsible for keeping our communities and stakeholders informed and up to date. Your main duties will include creating and overseeing the development of content and managing our social media channels and websites, along with developing and delivering the communication strategies for our campaigns. You will work with our young people, working on projects alongside them and considering their ideas in the work that is produced. You will also work with professionals to develop resources to support their work with children and young people living with HIV. As part of this role you will build relationships with key stakeholders, adapting the communication style and medium as appropriate. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of outputs from the organisation with a clear visual and brand identity which aligns with the organisation’s mission.
• Previous experience of website content development and management and social media content development
• Experience of developing communication and engagement strategies
• Experience of working in voluntary or statutory sector and working to organisational values
• Ability to form relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to work well with a team and support other members of staff
• Robust understanding of GDPR requirements
• Confident in managing own workload, work autonomously, monitor areas of work and outputs.
