2018 CHIVA Family Conference
Professionals and Families collaborating to enhance HIV care for children and young people.
The first Chiva family conference took place on Saturday 3rd March 2018. Read the full evaluation report here.
This event was designed for families where one or more child is living with HIV.
The conference provided engaging, interactive workshops for families which enable adults, children and young people to explore issues, identify current needs and develop confidence and skills. There will also be plenary lectures which focus on important current research into onward transmission of HIV emphasizing treatment as prevention as well as accessible information and updates about treatment and care. Chiva has been supported by an educational grant from Gilead Sciences ltd. Metro charity are supporting the delivery of the families day of ‘Going Forward’ and supporting a travel bursary fund for families attending the conference.
