Looking after HIV: Considering the needs of HIV positive looked after children
The National Children’s Bureau (NCB) publication Looking after HIV, by Amanda Ely, considers the needs and experiences of children and young people in care who are living with HIV, or at risk of acquiring HIV. It explores professionals’ understanding of and responses to these needs, and the policy and practice guidance available to inform this. Published in 2008, Looking after HIV continues to provide clear, practical guidance on issues and challenges that remain relevant in 2015. Since policy and legislation have changed, NCB has produced an accompanying document updating Section 3, the broad children’s policy framework.
