We know that Coronavirus COVID-19 is causing a lot of worries for people, we aim to provide information, guidance, support and reassurance during this challenging time. CHIVA have developed dedicated information for professionals, parents and young people on COVID-19 and HIV to provide updates on recommendations and evidence as received.

Enhancing the health and social wellbeing of children and young people living with HIV

North West

8 young people were contacted and invited to attend the meet up day. Due to other commitments 5 were unable to attend, 3 were available to attend, alongside a peer mentor and support project worker.

The group had a small workshop to enable getting to know each other better and to build friendships. There was an exercise around looking at levels of knowledge around HIV, and talking about HIV, and attitudes looking after yourself.

After the workshop, all of the group went ice skating.  Group members looked after, and supported each other, with different levels of ability on the ice.

To finish the day there was a well-earned visit to Nando’s, with everyone talking to each other about the day.  Each young person was given a small Christmas goody bag which included information on CHIVA camp 2020 and the Family Conference in London.
