Camp Welcome Gathering

On Thursday 30th July, we held an hour-long workshop to welcome registered participants to vFTB 2020. Activist Becky Kroger and CHIVA staff hosted, and we introduced some of our workshop facilitators and volunteer team.

News and Updates

Every lunchtime, activist Becky Kroger and CHIVA staff member Tom, gave you all the latest news from Camp. These updates give an overview of the highlights from Camp the day before, top tips for staying safe online and the latest news about our competitions. All videos are posted on the CHIVA YouTube channel and the CHIVA website.

A Message to my Younger Self

Every day we released a new video message from a young adult looking back on their childhood and living with HIV. They share top tips, and lessons learnt about growing up well. These short videos give you the real-life experience of what it's like to grow up well with HIV.

This video series have been produced by Bakita Kasadha.

All videos are available on the CHIVA YouTube channel and the CHIVA website.

Spotlight on...

Every day we released a thirty-minute in depth video on topics relevant to young people living with HIV. Tailored for young people, they are themed around the key questions young people often ask our team, including:

  • Monday: HIV medicine (present and future)
  • Tuesday: Being a parent with HIV
  • Wednesday: Talking about HIV: PEP, PrEP and U=U
  • Thursday: Experiences of young people from around the world
  • Friday: Understanding why different groups are affected by HIV

Watch the series on the CHIVA YouTube channel and the CHIVA website.

This video series have been produced by Bakita Kasadha.

The Creative Zone

Every afternoon there were live interactive workshops delivered via zoom for registered participants. Our team of artists and creatives supported participants to express themselves, through music, drama and art.

Knowledge is Power

Every afternoon we ran a series of live 1-hour interactive workshops on zoom for registered participants. Through talks, games and quizzes, we looked at information about HIV. Topics covered:

  • HIV the basics
  • Sexual health, consent, relationships
  • Talking about HIV
  • Know your rights
  • The Great Debate

Wellbeing Drop-In

CHIVA staff ran a daily Wellbeing Drop-In each evening, providing an informal space for participants to meet other young people living with HIV and focus on staying well. Activities included yoga with Liz, a spa night and an introduction to mindfulness meditation.

vF2B Final Gathering

On Friday 7th August we had the end of vF2B Final Gathering. Host Becky Kroger, and CHIVA staff introduced highlights from the week and announced our competition winners and camp super heroes.

We also had a virtual party, with a games room, and an exclusive DJ mix live streamed, to finish off the week.
