Paediatric Virtual Clinic
The Paediatric Virtual Clinic (PVC) is a discussion forum for complex case discussion for children and young people living with HIV and for prevention of vertical transmission (PVT), held on Microsoft Teams on the first Thursday of the month, 09.00-10.00 (UK Time).
You may consider referring a case for discussion when;
- Starting a child/young person on ART
- Viralogical failure/resistance
- Long acting treatment
- Co-infection
- Malignancy
- Changes in ART to simplify/update regimen
- Pregnant mothers with HIV not virally suppressed
To refer a case for discussion please complete the appropriate slide deck (find below) with patient details anonymised, and email to [email protected].
In urgent cases, the appropriate healthcare professionals involved in the patient’s care can have a discussion with the PVC team without waiting for next virtual clinic date, to avoid any clinical delay.
The PVC is supported by members of the Penta training network.
