Parents Area

Welcome to the parents/carers area of the website. This area has been written by and for parents/carers.

The young person living with HIV in your life will be looking to you as their “champion”. One definition of a champion is: a person who fights or argues for a cause on behalf of someone else. This is fitting of the work parents/carers do for the young person living with HIV in their life.

As a champion of a young person living with HIV, you will need a few things in your toolkit that could support you to navigate life for yourself and your young person. This area of the Chiva website aims to equip you with some of the information and advice you’ll need.

Watch Fungai Murau talk about being a parent living with HIV, sharing thoughts and ideas about communicating about HIV in the family.
