Enhancing the health and social wellbeing of children and young people living with HIV

Social care involvement

This area is for parents of children living with HIV, where children's services are involved with the family.

Local authority children's services support children and families with needs that cannot be fully met by health, education or community services. They also have a duty to keep children and vulnerable adults safe.

You can find out more about why children's services might become involved with your family, and what it means for you and your children, from Family Lives and Family Rights Group.

Foster carers

If you are either thinking about fostering an HIV positive child, or have found out that a child you are fostering is HIV positive, visit our pages for foster carers.
