Applications Now Open for Chiva’s 2026 Events Programme
Chiva is pleased to announce that applications are now open for our main 2026 events for children, young people and young adults growing up with HIV and their families.
For the first time, we have opened applications for all of our biggest events at the same time, to make it easier for people to see which opportunities are most appropriate for them throughout the year ahead.
All Chiva events are free to attend, and travel costs are covered.
Art Is Key
Art Is Key supports a group of 17–25 year-olds living with HIV to share their stories through the creative arts, producing powerful pieces of music, drama, spoken word, and even podcasts. This year, the project begins with a residential taking place Tuesday 7 – Saturday 11 April 2026.

Families’ Weekend
Families with a child or young person growing up with HIV are invited to apply for one of two weekends, based on the location closest to them:
- Herefordshire: Saturday 23 – Monday 25 May 2026
- Oxfordshire: Saturday 24 – Monday 26 October 2026

Freedom to Be (F2B) Camp
F2B is Chiva’s residential camp for young people aged 11–17 who are growing up living with HIV. The camp will take place from Tuesday 4 – Saturday 8 August 2026.

Volunteer Opportunities at F2B Camp
We are also welcoming applications from people who would like to volunteer at F2B camp:
- Camp Leaders: Young people aged 18–25 living with HIV, who have had a two-year break since attending camp as a participant
- Key Workers: Members of the wider public with an interest in volunteering.
