Chiva Youth Committee Welcomes New Members and Explores HIV Advocacy at London Residential

The Chiva Youth Committee (CYC) recently welcomed eight new members and some of them were able to attend the February half term residential in London.

During the residential the group did some preparation work for their forthcoming Chiva Conference Symposium and also this years’ Freedom to Be (F2B) camp theme and accompanying workshops. They also visited the UK Parliament for the day and were fortunate to have a private tour with APPG for HIV Officer, Mark Lewis.

Whilst in Westminster the group took part in a consultation workshop about how the voluntary sector supports people living with HIV, delivered by HIV Outcomes. Whilst in London a small group of the CYC also took part in a Patient and Public Involvement workshop about health data collection and young people.

The evening provided an opportunity for some social time and a chance to reconnect with each other.
