Two new short films celebrating Chiva camp are finalists for The Charity Film Awards!

UPDATE:

We are beyond thrilled to announce that BOTH of our short films have made it to the finals of The Charity Film Awards 2025!

A massive thank you to everyone who voted for us – we truly appreciate your support! The awards ceremony will take place on 20th March 2025.

Chiva is proud to announce the release of two new short films which have both been shortlisted for the Charity Film Awards.

In 2024, Chiva hosted its 15th annual summer camp, Freedom to Be (F2B), which brings together up to 100 children and young people who are growing up living with HIV.

The films were created to celebrate this 15-year milestone and reflect on the enormous impact that the event has had on the individuals who have attended or volunteered at the camp over the years. Chiva worked with MyLife Productions to produce both films.

‘Safe With Me’ tells the story of two young people who make a connection at Chiva’s F2B camp. It is co-written and co-directed by a talented 17-year-old student called Stacy with Kris Deedigan from MyLife Productions. The film includes a stellar cast of actors including Bridget Marumo, Sky Frances and Yinka Awoni (I May Destroy You).

Freedom to Be’ is a documentary that looks back over an emotional and impactful 15 years of Chiva camp.

Voting closes on the 5 February so please take a moment to vote for both films at the links above, to give Chiva the best chance of winning an award (or two).
