SPOTLIGHT ON… VIDEOS

These thirty-minute Spotlight On… videos cover topics relevant to young people living with HIV and feature health care professionals, activists and people living with HIV. They are tailored for young viewers and themed around the key questions young people often ask our team.

These videos were released during our virtual Freedom 2 Be camp in summer 2020. The series was produced by Bakita Kasadha and is also available on the Chiva YouTube channel.

HIV medicine present and future

Bakita interviews Dr Sarah Fidler and Dr Caroline Foster. They discuss HIV treatment development and current research and trials including longer term injectable treatment trials and HIV cure research.

Being a parent with HIV

Fungai Murau talks about being a parent living with HIV, sharing thoughts and ideas about communicating about HIV in the family.

Talking about HIV: PEP, PrEP and U=U

Marc Thompson and Bakita cover PEP, PrEP and U=U. Marc is founder and director of Love Tank, which promotes the health and wellbeing of under-served communities, and BlackOut UK, an organisation for gay, bi and/or trans men of African descent.

Bakita talks to Darius (pt 1), who is Co-founder of SAFE: A Rustin’s Place (a space for queer black men) and former board member on the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV. She then meets with Igor (pt 2), who is the chair of the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV.
